Aka Shigitatsu Sawa is known for its beautiful reticulation. In spring, the leaves have bright veins accentuated by the soft pink and creamy green colors of the leaves.
In summer, the tree turns a darker green, and in autumn, the leaves change again to beautiful tones of red, orange, and yellow. For the best position and colors, the tree needs some afternoon shade.
