Acer shirasawanum Jordan is an outstanding yellow-leafed tree that originated from the Fratelli Gilardelli nursery in Italy that also introduced Fireglow, Summer Gold, etc. In the spring the leaves emerge a bright yellow, becoming either green or light yellow in the summer, depending on the conditions. Jordan is often described as being a fast growing Aureum. We have personally witnessed new shoots of up to 60 cm on younger trees, about 1 to 4 years after grafting.
