Acer palmatum Melanie

Melanie is one of the members of the Corallinum group. It will light up your garden with cherry-red leaves. It is an absolutely stunning sight, especially when the tree reaches a larger size. In summer, the leaves turn a dark green, while new growth on top retains that cherry-red color. In autumn, it changes once again to vibrant orange.

As mentioned above, it is a member of the Corallinum group. In this group, you’ll find cultivars like Deshojo, Shin-Deshojo, Beni-maiko, Corallinum and more.

After growing several of these cultivars, we've found that Melanie has the most beautiful natural form, requiring little pruning to maintain its lovely shape.
